January 2025 – Directus Updates, Releases, + More
Node 22 support, refreshed Kanban layouts, improved translations + more. Check out what our team has been up to this month.

Heyo! Ben here... What. A. Year. 😅
I was just looking back through everything we shipped in 2024, and honestly, it's mind-blowing – over 1,000 updates to be exact!
I won't list them all (I promise), but I do want to highlight some of my personal favorites that made this year special:
In March, we launched our Marketplace beta, something we've been methodically working on behind the scenes over the past few years.
This opened up a whole new world of possibilities for extending Directus, and the response from our community has been incredible.
We also dropped Version 11 over the summer, which completely transformed how access control works with our new policies system.
On the Cloud side we rolled out our new $15/month starter tier to make our hosted cloud service as affordable as possible. We've also added:
Pre-built templates for CMS, CRM, eCommerce, and more use cases (Bryant has more on this below!)
Our infrastructure team deserves a massive shoutout here – they've been working tirelessly behind the scenes to make all of this possible.
Some other cool additions?
Focal point support for image cropping (small but mighty!)
Oh, and you can now stream system logs directly in the Data Studio for better debugging 🐛
I truly believe this has been one of our most impactful years yet.

Let's dive into what's new with our latest releases, including 11.4.0 which just shipped this month.
11.4.0 (Release Notes)
One of our biggest changes is upgrading our runtime to Node 22!
After resolving compatibility issues with our dependencies, you can now run Directus on current LTS versions of Node.js. Here's what else is new:
Enhanced translation interface with toggle-able deletion
Improved Kanban layout supporting relational data in card titles
New Murathi language support (our 30th language with >70% coverage!)
Activity tracking for field deletion
New CLI validation command for extension authors (huge thanks to our new DX Engineer Mike Elsmore for this first contribution!)
11.3.5 (Release Notes)
This update brought several quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes:
Enhanced multilingual content management
Improved project activity logging
Various performance optimizations
