Role Overview

We're hiring a Sales Development Representative to lead outbound for Directus and our newly launched product, Monospace.

This is the first outbound voice prospects hear about Monospace, the governed access layer for AI agents and operational data at enterprise scale. You will identify, engage, and qualify senior decision-makers at enterprise companies running into the AI access wall, and book qualified meetings for our Account Executives and Solutions Engineering team.

This is a foundational seat. The category is wide open. No direct competitors. The SDRs we hire now will be the first voices on the outbound side of category creation.
The role reports to the Director of BDR and sits inside a fast-moving sales org that values craft over checkbox metrics.

What You'll Do

Drive Outbound Volume
  • Execute high-volume outbound activity across email, LinkedIn, and phone

  • Deliver consistent quality conversations with target accounts

  • Hit monthly meeting targets aligned to pipeline goals

  • Maintain a disciplined multi-channel cadence across your territory

Run Discovery and Qualification
  • Identify decision-maker level, active AI initiatives, security blockers, and timeline urgency on cold calls

  • Apply our qualification framework to target the right buyers

  • Deliver clean handoffs to AEs and Solutions Engineers with full context

Execute Multi-Channel Sequences
  • Build and run outbound sequences across email, LinkedIn, and voicemail

  • Iterate on messaging based on real-time market feedback

  • Surface ICP refinements back into the sales team

Research Accounts and Personas
  • Use modern prospecting tools to surface buying signals

  • Tailor outreach to specific roles (CTO, CDO, CAIO, VP Engineering, VP Platform)

  • Identify expansion opportunities within target accounts

Maintain Pipeline Hygiene
  • Keep CRM data clean and current

  • Track conversion criteria against defined pipeline gates

  • Report against weekly KPIs

Contribute to Continuous Improvement
  • Participate in call reviews and message iteration

  • Provide structured feedback from cold calls into GTM, Product, and Customer Success loops

  • Default to writing things down: notes, observations, ICP refinements documented

What We're Looking For

  • Professional sales experience (SDR, BDR, inside sales, or relevant)

  • Demonstrated ability to handle high-volume outbound calling

  • Strong written and verbal communication

  • Coachability and willingness to iterate on feedback

  • Curiosity about enterprise software, AI infrastructure, and how senior technical decision-makers buy

  • Resilience: ability to handle rejection and maintain energy across a full day of dials

  • Comfort with sales tooling (CRM, dialers, prospecting platforms)

  • Self-directed and comfortable with ambiguity in a small, high-ownership team

Nice to Have

  • Experience selling into B2B SaaS, enterprise software, or to technical buyers

  • Familiarity with modern sales tooling

  • Background in technical sales or technical domain knowledge

  • Multi-language ability (Spanish, French, or German) for European outbound coverage

  • Demonstrated history of hitting and exceeding outbound metrics

  • Familiarity with open-source or hybrid (open-core + commercial) sales motions

  • Conversion rate from meeting to qualified opportunity

  • Pipeline contribution to AE territories
