Motion Graphics & Visual Designer
Role Overview
We are looking for a Motion & Visual Designer to join us at Directus and help bring our product, brand, and stories to life through thoughtful visual communication.
As part of the Design team, you’ll work closely with Marketing and other cross-functional partners to create compelling visual experiences that educate, inspire, and engage our global audience. From product launches and campaigns to motion graphics, presentations, events, and digital experiences, you’ll help transform complex ideas into clear and impactful stories across a variety of formats and channels.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing creativity with strategic thinking, has a strong eye for visual craft, and thrives in a collaborative environment where curiosity, experimentation, and continuous improvement are encouraged. What You'll Do
Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners including marketing, sales, product, and other designers, engineers, product managers, and marketers to shape and translate campaign goals and messages into compelling visual stories to be shared across multiple channels.
Design, produce, and shape high quality visual communications across multiple formats in print, digital, video, and other creative mediums, including but not limited to motion graphics, product demos, videos, infographics, data visualization, presentation decks, social media assets, event collaterals, and other marketing materials and creative experiences that help communicate our story.
Help evolve and maintain Directus’ visual identity, ensuring consistency across marketing materials, product communications, digital experiences, and community touch points.
Design and maintain reusable templates, asset libraries, and any creative systems that enable other teams/departments to move faster while maintaining high design standards and quality.
Contribute to the broader Design team by participating in brainstorming sessions, reviews and critiques, design quality checks, and design goal alignment.
What We're Looking For
Experience developing and implementing creative concepts and executing them across a variety of mediums and channels.
Strong desire to understand our specific audience and learn the nuances of our B2B channels.
Attention to detail and strong visual design skills with an eye for design fundamentals (typography, color, layout, iconography, and many more) and creative execution.
Experience creating motion graphics, animations, and other forms of visual storytelling content using tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator), Jitter, or any other similar tools.
Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
Have a self-driven mindset with the ability to manage multiple projects, balance priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced remote environment.
A portfolio showcasing strong visual design work in video, motion design, visual graphics projects, campaigns, or any other examples that best exemplify aspects of visual communication.
A positive and adaptable team player with a strong sense of ownership and accountability .
Nice to Have
Experience working with developer tools, open source software, or other technical products, creating visual and audiovisual communications for technical audiences.
Experience with contributing to brand systems, design systems, and/or visual identity guidelines.
